What are <div>'s? What are they used for? How are they used? I noticed them used in web designing. Could someone help me please understand their meanings. Thanks.

The <div> tag defines a division/section in a document.

The <div> tag is nothing more than a container for other tags. Much like the body tag, Div elements are block elements and work behind the scenes grouping other tags together. Use only the following attributes with your div element, anything else should be reserved for CSS.

Example code:
<body>
<div style="background: green">
<h5 >SEARCH 4 domains</h5>
4goodhosting (http://www.4goodhosting.com)
</div>
</body>

Hello mrhosters,

To see how <div> works, please visit this resource->http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Span_and_div

They offer both an excellent read and examples.
